2 Days/1 Night from $361
Day 1 SANDAKAN-SEPILOK-SUKAU (L/D)
An early morning flight takes you to the historic town of Sandakan where upon arrival, you are transferred to the Sepilok Orang Utan Sanctuary to witness rehabilitation and rainforest conservation efforts by the State Wildlife Department. Lunch is a simple affair at the Sepilok Nature Resort before a two-hours drive to the Sukau River. Check in at one of the river lodges and enjoy a leisure afternoon before embarking on an upriver boat-ride to appreciate the many species of Borneo rainforest flora and fauna. This region is well known for hornbills, colourful tropical birds, crocodiles, monitor lizards, wild pigs, otters, oriental darters and more. Catch the mischievous Proboscis monkeys frolic. These huge-bellied, long nosed primates with long white tails live by the river and are especially active during dusk when they are socializing, crashing through tress or foraging for food. Settle down for dinner and an overnight stay.
